James Blake turns wife into tennis fan

TENNIS: Former world #4 James Blake shares the story of how he took out the tennis fan out of his wife. In an interview with the Albany Times Union, Blake quoted - “Five years ago she didn’t know the first thing about tennis and now she’s taking lessons and says, ‘It looked so easy when you were doing it. Now I see it’s pretty tough what you are doing out there. That hopefully has created a fan.”

The 33-year-old, who has 10 Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) titles in his kitty, says he can still compete with the top guys of the present era. “I can play at that level at times. When I was having a bad day when I was 26, 27 years old, I was 95 percent of my 100 percent potential. Now I have days where my body just doesn’t feel as good or I’m not playing my best, and it’s definitely not my top level. I have those bad days a little more frequently than I used to, but I still feel like when I’m on, I still can compete with the top guys. It’s just a matter of putting it together in a Grand Slam,” he added. Blake is currently representing the New York Sportimes at the ‘colourful’ World Team Tennis 2013.
