HIGH HOPES
This is a list of some of the players which i think would become future greats, who are capable of playing any format of the game with equal dexterity.
VIRAT KOHLI : Well guys, forgive me for being so obvious but this list cannot start without mentioning the name of this rising superstar. Virat’s been one of the most phenomenal batsman in recent times, becoming the mainstay of the Indian batting line-up. Just 24 years of age and bestowed with the honour of captaining his country, he has broken a number of records. Some have even said that he is in contention for breaking Sachin’s superhuman record for maximum centuries.
KANE WILLIAMSON : This batsman makes the list purely on the basis of his technique and temperament. In his very first test match, he hit a century against the treachery and guile of the Indian Spinners, that too coming at 4 down with their backs against the walls. In that innings, he batted for nearly 7 hours. In Sri Lanka, he proved again that this wasn’t a fluke. Being a New Zealender, he is naturally good against the quicks. If he maintains his focus, then he’ll definitely become a batting great for NZ.
JUNAID KHAN : He may look innocuous and friendly, but currently is one of the most dangerous pace bowlers in world cricket. For quite some time now, there have been a few fast bowlers whom the world has dubbed as the next Wasim Akram, according to me this guy fits the bill. In the ODI series against India earlier this year, he was responsible for destroying the top order in all of the three matches. Bowls regularly at 140+ speeds, Junaid Khan has a natural in swinger which can trouble the best in the business. In addition, like his idol he too is a prodigy with the reverse swinging old ball.
JOE ROOT : Though it may be early days for him, but this is one player who has showed that good old-fashioned batting is still in. I have described at length about his batting abilities in one of my previous articles. I had missed describing his pressure absorbing ability. This can be evident from his innings of 180 in an Ashes test match at Lord’s, the greatest stage for an English cricketer.
This is only my view, if you think there are other players as well then you can comment and contribute to the list.

And yeah, Afridi is the all time great in making comebacks :p
Dhawan has been really gud since his debut but I wouldn't go as far as calling him a future great, I am talking about players in the league of sachin, Dravid, akram etc
How can you forget the permanent oldest newcomer in the game of cricket - Shahid Afridi :P . Pun aside , I think Shikhar Dhawan has also shown some great consistency in Tests and ODIs to merit a name in this list.
