India Trash Zimbabwe to go 4-0 up.

India gave a glimpse of how good it’s bench strength is, as they trashed Zimbabwe by 9 wickets. The star of the match was none other than the debutant, Mohit Sharma, who took 2 wickets and bowled economically.

Zimbabwe were never in the game, considering that they could not build up a steady partnership. Playing defensively can never do good, as it was seen in the case of Zimbabwean batting line-up.

The top order crumbled, thanks to some excellent bowling from the Indians. They were down 5 for 47, and if not for Chigumbura and Walters, they could have well been dismissed under 100.

The Indian bowlers did not put one step wrong. Mohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja were the wreckers-in-chief, whereas the other bowlers chipped in too. Amit Mishra was effective in cleaning up the tail, by picking up 3 quick wickets.

The score was too below-par or the Zimbabweans to defend. Though Cheteshwar Pujara couldn’t utilise the oppertunity presented to him, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina chipped in with fifties as India cruised on to victory without anymore hiccup. Raina would be quite revived of this knock, as he was out-of-form for quite some time and with the stiff competition in the batting order, his place is not more guaranteed in the side anymore.

Already being 4-0 up in the series, it is time to test a complete 2nd string team in the next match. It would be intresting to see whether Kohli hands in Parveez Rosol, the first J&K to be selected in the team, will get a place in the playing 11.
