Wayne Rooney will stay at Manchester United and beat my record: Sir Bobby Charlton
Wayne Rooney and the transfer saga just doesn’t get over. But, one man who believes that Rooney will stay put at Old Trafford is none other than the Manchester United legend, Sir Bobby Charlton. Charlton, went even one step further and said that Rooney whose tally of 197 goals is 52 short of Charlton’s club record, will stay at United and break his record in the coming years. Charlton, who is a United director, has said many a times that he doesn’t like losing really good players and according to him Rooney is a really good player.
Wayne Rooney has been the star of the team since his move from Everton. Even though there have been rumours of him being a summer target of Chelsea and many other teams, no bids have been reported
Charlton, in an interview also praised the new signing, Wilfred Zaha. His words were "Give him the ball and all he wants to do is beat defenders and smash it into the back of the net" Something that Charlton did so often.
The transfer window is still open and you never know what it will throw up. For now, Rooney stays a Red Devil.
