Team SRH - Sunrisers Hyderabad - CLT20

One of the biggest and pleasant surprises of IPL6 was the rise of the Sunrisers Hyderabad, under the leadership of Sammy and further bolstered by the late arrival of Dhawan. This CL20 Dhawan would be leading SRH, and who know this would be the shot in the arm that Dhawan needed, his purple patch is getting darker and better.

After much controversy, Kumar Sangakara decided to play for this home team rather than SRH, one can understand the sentiments attached. This could be a blessing in disguise for SRH; Kumar struggled in IPL and after much debate finally made way. As expected Dhawan and Parthiv get yet another chance to continue their dream opening partnership. Especially Dhawan who has been in top form in England, WI and Zim, he would relish the batting paradise of India and the ball skidding in the due. White gets another chance to prove his hard-hitting skills; who know this could be a career extending innings for him.

Sammy though having lost the captaincy, hasn’t lost his mojo, he is as lively energetic and effective in the field; can bat bowl and is a good fielder. Duminy has been on and off in IPL, at one point he the soul of South African and MI, but injuries and bad form has hampered his career. The magic of Perera was seen in IPL, he drew more attention for his batting than his bowling, but SHR would be happy if he gets primary job on mark.

Steyn would be fresh after a long break from International cricket, after IPL, he dismantled PAK, especially the Hafeez and Jamshed. One can only hope that he plays a good mentor’s role Ishant, who some how bowls well along with Steyn. Along with Mishra and Karan Sharma, SRH have a formidable attack, an attack that can challenge the best in the business provided the conditions favor them.

H Vihari play some gutsy innings and showed some maturity when batted for SHR, we haven’t heard much from him since them, hopefully after CLT20 we see more of him in the domestic season that follows.

SHR in essence was a workhorse team that relied of condition and some inspiring batting, they don’t have superstars who can blast their way and bat the opposition out of the attack. They have a team that relies on individuals that punch above their weight.
