The Return of Mr Controversy

Luis Suarez is back with a bang. The Uruguay international scored twice against Sunderland to help his side to be just one place behind table toppers Arsenal. He would be relieved to put in a good performance after a tumultuous six months for him. Even though he wasn’t there on the pitch for the last five months for Liverpool he had gathered enough controversies against him. It started off with his desire to play for a big club. There were offers made by Arsene Wenger. However Liverpool were adamant not to sell him to one of their rivals in England. They somehow convinced him that if an offer comes from Real Madrid they will let him go. However Madrid emptied their entire cash bag on one expensive superstar- Gareth Bale, because of which they never turned their attention on any other player.

The entire transfer market people were placing bets on which club he would be at. However he decided to stay at Liverpool. Liverpool have made a great start to their premiere league campaign this year. However injury to Phillipe Coutinho somewhat derailed their perfect start. With Suarez coming in, he would offset the absence of Phillipe Coutinho. Also it would be interesting to see him partner Daniel Sturidge who is probably in the best form of his career. Initial signs look good. Suarez would hold the key for Liverpool challenging the top four. Even if he is not yet ready to discuss a new contract with Liverpool, there is no doubt that he will give his all for Liverpool this season. But what Liverpool would hope is that he stays away from all controversies and bans. Then they know they have a good chance of being back to the elite league of Europe.
