Cricket :
India lost its first ODI of the 7 match series against Australia by 72 runs. Australian captain was the star of the match for his excellent 85 of just 82 balls. As far as Australia is concerned, Aaron finch and Philip Hughes gave a good start to the team, then after a mini-middle order collapse, George Bailey helped in recovery, and Australia posted an above par 304.
India could never get going, after losing Dhawan early enough. There were contributions from everybody, but no-one could convert it into a big innings. Virat Kohli scored a fighting 61, but he did not receive any supprt. And eventually after his fall of wicket, Indian batting fell like a pack of cards.
Tennis :
Novak Djokovic claimed his 15th masters title, and 39th overall, after his victory against Del Potro in an exciting final. While Djokovic took the first set pretty easily, Del-Potro came in strong in the second and third set, but eventually lost in the final set tie-break.
F1 :
Sebastian Vettel roared to victory in the Japaneese Grand Prix, which is his 5th consecutive race victory. Also, his 4th consecutive title has been assured, but he has to wait to celebrate it.
Mark Webber, who is going to retire after this season, lost his early lead to Grosjean , who was later overtaken by Vettel. But Webber eventually caught up with Grosjean, and finished second.
