Federer blows hot and cold

The stakes were high. But the mathematics involved was very simple. Whoever wins would be through to the next round. Federer had to bring his A game against Del Portro to be able to qualify as a semi finalist yet again.

Federer began on a horrible low. Losing 5 games out of 6. He was broken in his first game itself. But the losing inspired Roger to win the almost all the remaining points to reach 5-4. He ended up losing 6-4 despite the adrenaline rush.

The second set was a very close affair ending at 6-7 in fed’s favor.

For a set and half, it seemed that one of the semi final would be contested between Nadal and del Portro but Fedexpress had other plans.

Roger hit 10 aces on his way to win the match 4-6,7-6(7-2),7-5.

He will play against Nadal for the 32nd time, having been the underdog throughout the career.

The other semi final will see Djokovic against wawrinka.

I sincerely wish for Federer to show his magic all over again.
