Analysis piece on Lallana
Newly capped England International Adam Lallana, 25, has made it clear that he wants to be a regular in Hodgson’s squad. Lallana plays as a left winger for Southampton F.C. He became a regular in the first team at the start of 2008-2009 premier league seasons and has scored more than 50 goals for them. Lallana’s armory includes a cocktail of Cryuff turns, mazy dribbles and incisive runs from the midfield. His skills have helped Southampton reach within 3 points of being the league leader. Rickie Lambert, Jay Rodriguez and Lallana form a very formidable offense combination. Southampton clearly has a good set of players who can help decide who the title winners are this season.
Lallana’s potential was spotted by a talent scout from Southampton. Then he became a part of the Saint’s youth setup. Lallana has also been excellent when it comes to doing his defense duties. He has made 10 interceptions and won possession every 12 minutes. He has also attempted 121 grond 50 – 50’s. When it comes to creativity, Lallana has performed well this season. He has attempted 70 crosses with an accuracy of 24% and also provided 2 goal assists.
With such hot talents among its rank, Southampton will find it tough to hold on to Lallana for long. Bigger clubs like Liverpool have been rumoured to have shown interest in him. A good offer will be needed to convince the Saints to part with their skipper.
