English Premier League Round-up: Man City thrashes Spurs, Man United stumbles as Arsenal goes 4 clear at the top

Arsenal went 4 points clear at the top of the English Premier League with a routine 2-0 victory over high-flying Southampton courtesy two Oliver Giroud goals. Liverpool and Chelsea are both on 24 points and occupy the 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Liverpool played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at Everton in the 221st Merseyside derby while Chelsea won 3-0 away at West Ham with Frank Lampard scoring a brace.

Newcastle continued their good run of form with their 3rd consecutive win in the Premier League by defeating Norwich City 2-1 while Stoke City won 2-0 against basement boys Sunderland. Crystal Palace got a priceless victory over Hull City and Swansea City won 2-1 at Fulham.

Tonight Manchester City played a brilliant game as they dismantled a woeful Tottenham Hotspur 6-0 and thus occupy the 4th position. Samir Nasri and Sergio Aguero both scored two goals each while Alvaro Negredo scored another and Sandro scored an own goal. Sunday’s last game was between Cardiff City and defending champions Manchester United where Cardiff secured a valuable point with an injury-time equalizer in the 2-2 draw. For Manchester United Wayne Rooney scored one and created another but he should have been sent off for a kick on Jordon Mutch. Frazier Campbell scored the first goal for Cardiff while Bo-Kyung Kim headed in the injury-time equaliser.
