India v/s South Africa 3rd ODI: Quinton de Kock scored his third consecutive century as rain plays spoilsport

The third ODI between South Africa and India was abandoned due to incessant raining in Centurion. This way, South Africa won the ODI series 2-0. Batting first, South Africa scored 301/8 in their stipulated 50 overs but India could not even start the chase as the rain came pouring in.

AB de Villiers won the toss and decided to bat first. It looked as if his decision had backfired as South Africa lost 3 wickets for just 28 runs. But just when it look as if India were on front foot for the first time in the series, luck deserted them and Quinton de Kock got two reprieves. Along with his captain, he played great hand as the duo was involved in a 171 runs partnership for the 4th wicket. In the process, the 20-year-old scored his 3rd consecutive century in the series. He was finally out for 101 runs. AB de Villiers continued after that and he too scored a much deserved 109 runs off just 101 deliveries. And in the final overs, David Miller scored a quickfire 56 off 34 balls to take the team total beyond 300 runs.

For the Indian bowlers, Ishant Sharma took 4 wickets giving away 40 runs while Mohammed Shami continued his impressive wicket taking form taking three wickets. Quinton de Kock was awarded the Man of the Series.
