Liverpool Transfer News : Brendon Rogers Confident That Luis Suárez Will Stay At Anfield ?
Luiz Alberto Suárez Diaz, a football sensation in the Premier League was signed by Liverpool in the 2011 January transfer window and since then, he has just upscaled the level of the Reds game to new heights. Liverpool’s second highest transfer of £22.5 million has been much more than justifiable and worthy of the money spent on him compared to their highest transfer of £35 million Andy Carroll which was a big big failure.
The Uruguayan is known for his free goalscoring capability, is an exceptional striker of the ball, can score goals from anywhere, hits superb volleys, magnificent headers and what not. He is just a treat to watch when in form. But the player has had his own ups and downs in his Liverpool career.
He has always been marred by criticism on his diving incidents in football which he has infact admitted to. Then there is the racial abuse incident of October 2011 when he was found guilty by the FA of racially abusing Patrice Evra during a game against Manchester United in October and was given an eight-game suspension and a £40,000 fine. Then in February, during the pregame handshakes, Suárez avoided shaking Evra’s hand, for which he and the manager Dalglish were later forced to apologize. The 2013 bite incident in a game against Chelsea when he bit Branislav Ivanovic on his arm made it much more worse for the Uruguayan who was then banned for 10 matches by the FA for his misconduct.
All these issues have brought down his image and reputation amongst the fans many a times and he has not been a happy person at Anfield for a long spell for he thought that FA, English football and the media is always after him. These all issues along with the inability of Liverpool to claim the Champions League spot over so many seasons has now made him rethink his future at Anfield following which he made a public statement in 2013 saying that he wanted to quit Liverpool. He has been in the red hot transfer lists of Real Madrid and Barcelona, the dream clubs for any football player and what wrong it is if he thinks of going there.
Even Steven Gerrard, the Liverpool captain expressed his concern over Suárez’s future.
Gerrard, 33, told the Liverpool Echo: "Luis is in good form.
"The team are playing well, so January won’t be a problem.
"But come the summer, I think depending how Liverpool have done will determine what goes through Luis’ mind.
"His goals, his performances and his form will be the key to whether we finish in the top four."
However, Liverpool were successful in stopping him from leaving this summer despite a keen interest from Arsenal making a £40million bid for the player. And may be that decision was the one Suárez’s savors now as Liverpool has been in a really good form sitting at 3rd place in the table, he himself being on a goal scoring spree from the time he has come back from his 10 match ban. He is now the leading goal scorer this season scoring 15 goals in just 10 matches including 2 hat-tricks already.
Liverpool coach Brendan Rogers is pretty confident over Suárez staying with Liverpool for a long term.
He said: “I have said it many times before but he is a special talent and a good man. “He seems happy and settled in this team, at the club and in the city. The most exciting element for all of us striving to achieve success is that his best years are still ahead of him. We believe he’ll get even better.”
Although Suárez looks very happy this moment and is in a superb form, but still the probability of Champions league spot would be in his mind as he deserves it more than ever. He has risen up as an exceptional striker and is highly on the radar of all the big teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Arsenal, the teams who have constantly been playing the Champions league from so many years and would ensure him a very bright future. Moreover, the one month absence of Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard till mid January is gonna hurt Liverpool to some extent and we might see them going down to some teams unless Suárez shows his magic in all these matches which is a big thing to ask for.
So, its all good for Liverpool at the moment but next summer transfer window would be a big big test for the Liverpool manager and its fans which all depends on their performance in this season. No one can blame Suárez leaving next season if Liverpool doesn’t qualify for the Champions league, after all a talent like him deserves to play for the Europe’s topmost honour.

Absolutely....And the failure of a Champions league spot this time would definitely ensure his departure.
The question really is that Liverpool doesn't share the same ambitions that a player of Suarez's caliber have. Suarez hasn't been particularly loyal to Liverpool as well. Even though he claims he is happy, there is always this gaping void that he will have if he stays at Liverpool.I can see Madrid coming for him.
