FIFA Club World Cup 2013 Morocco: Bayern Munich strolls into the final

Bayern Munich put out a dominant display as they outclassed the Asian Champions Guangzhou Evergrande of China by 3-0 in Agadir. Pep Guardiola’s hot favourites defeated the cHinese team coached by former Italian World Cup winning manager Marcelo Lippi with goals from Franck Ribery, Mario Mandzukic and Mario Gotze.

Guangzhou Evergrande and Bayern were making their Club World Cup debuts, and it was the first ever meeting between the two sides.

Guangzhou set up defensively, making it difficult for Bayern to find space early on. However, the European champions hit the stride soon and had the majority of possession in their attacking half. Bayern hit the post and bar several times before scoring their three goals in a space of 8 minutes before and after the break.

The European Champions will face the winner of South American champions Atletico Minerio and home side Raja Casablanca in Saturday’s final. The two teams contest the second semi-final in Marrakech on Wednesday evening with Bayern chasing a fifth title of the calendar year having won the Champions League, European Super Cup, Bundesliga and German Cup.
