Australian Open: Wawrinka, Cibulkova reach maiden Grand Slam final; Li Na into her 3rd Australian Open final

Stanislas Wawrinka produced another accomplished performance and reached his maiden Major final by outclassing Tomas Berdych in four sets 6-3 6-7(1) 7-6(3) 7-6(4). The Swiss will play either compatriot Roger Federer or top seed Rafael Nadal in the men’s singles final on Sunday night after defeating seventh seed Berdych, who was looking to advance to his second major final.

The Women’s final will be contested between two time finalists Li Na and Dominika Cibulkova. Li Na advanced to the final after defeating teen sensation Eugenie Bouchard 6-2 6-4. Li Na will be hoping to become lucky the third time having already lost in the Australian Open finals on two previous occasions. In the other semi-final, Dominika Cibulkova continued her fairy tale run by outclassing fifth seed Agnieszka Radwanska 6-1 6-2. It will be a first appearance in a Major final for the Slovakian.
