MILLION DOLLAR BABY of the Fulham Football Club, Konstantinos "Kostas" Mitroglou

Konstantinos "Kostas" Mitroglou is a Greek international footballer who currently plays for Fulham football club after being transferred from the Greek club Olympiacos in the January transfer window of 2014 for a record amount of 12.4 million Euros. He is a star striker of Greece wherein he has played a major part in the qualification of the Greece for the FIFA world cup finals in Brazil 2014. He was very well known as a player who scored consecutive hat-trick in the history of the club Olympiacos and also in the entire Greek league. He is also only of the two Olympiacos player who has scored a hat-trick in Champions league.

In a bizarre move recently he moved from Olympiacos who are the champions of the Greek league to the Fulham football club in England. Currently Fulham are in 19th position of the league table. This move raised a few eyebrows in the football fraternity. Why would someone move out of the championship winning team to be a part of some other team in a different league which is thriving hard to save its position to move itself out of the relegation zone? The main issue behind the move of Konstantinos Mitroglou would be the exposure he might receive in EPL than he might have had in the Greek league where there are fewer followers. Also Fulham which is desperately trying to move out of relegation was ready to spend their pocket out to get the star striker at any cost. The main reason for this outburst was because of the fact that the contract of their star striker Berbatov is about to expire in the June of the current year. Berbatov is currently playing for AC Monaco on loan. Also it is the year of world cup where in the entire football fraternity will have an eye on him. This move will definitely help Konstantinos to make some name for himself.

Several other reason behind the move could also be the current coach of the Fulham football club René Meulensteen who formally had an experience in the Manchester united football club. He might have also be played a major role in the move of Kostas from Greek Olympus. One more reason could be the advice from his team mate, experienced Greek footballer Giorgos Karagounis, who might have played a minor part in the decision of Kostas in his move to Fulham.

Whatever may be the reason we shall wait and see whether the record move for Fulham would be successful and the star striker from Olympus would bring a change in the destiny of the Fulham football club. If he could help Fulham move out of the relegation zone then it would be a great move and a nice strategy by Fulham or else it would be one of the disastrous signing for the Fulham club. It would be very poor and would fell pity for the star striker who has left the Champions league spot and from being a champion in the Greek league to nobody in the EPL. Only time will decides the destiny of the million dollar baby of Fulham.
