Tom Ince: - Is He the Guardian Angel for Crystal Palace?

Thomas Christopher "Tom" Ince is an English footballer who plays for Crystal Palace, on loan from Blackpool. One of the brightest prospects in English Football, Tom was under radar of several clubs before he joined Crystal Palace on a 4 month loan deal from Blackpool. Football is in the blood of young Tom as he has followed the footsteps of his father Paul Ince, former England captain and ex-Manchester United player.
Ince signed for Liverpool as a youth player in 2008. He was given the jersey #45. After series of eye catching performances, he was an unused substitute at UEFA Europa League qualifier against FK Rabotničkii and made his debut against Northampton Town in 3rd round of League Cup. On 3 August 2011, Ince signed a 2 year contract with Blackpool.
For his country, Ince made four appearances for the Under-17s in 2009 and another four for the Under 19s in 2011. On 29 August 2012, he was called up to the Under 21 squad by manager Stuart Pearce for the European Championship qualifying games against Azerbaijan on 1 September and against Norway four days later. He made his under-21 debut in the 2–0 win over Azerbaijan at Dalga Arena, Baku. His first two goals for the under-21 side was scored on 5 February 2013, in a 4–0 win against Sweden.
The Blackpool winger joined with Crystal Palace on transfer deadline day and the Eagles’ boss, Tony Pulis is "convinced" that the England Under-21 international can make a big impact. Tony Pulis is confident that Tom Ince is ready to face the challenge of the Premier League. Ince joined from Championship side Blackpool on loan on Friday, until the end of the season, after talks with a host of clubs. However, his signature was not secured in time for him to feature in Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates.
If we analyze the Premier League standings carefully Crystal Palace is at 17th position with 23 points and is on the verge of relegation, but there are hosts of clubs starting from Aston Villa who are presently at 10th place and just 4 points ahead of Crystal Palace. They are all fighting to secure their places in next year’s Premier League and there is stiff competition among the bottom 10.
According to me, Tony Pulis has done an excellent signing in Ince, a winger who has scored 18 goals in second tier last season and racked up 7 goals in 23 appearances before a deadline day move is a worthy signing for Eagles. Pulis hope that Ince will provide a boost in the Eagles’ bid to avoid the drop. The Welshman told reporters, "We hope he helps us stay in the Premiership.” Tom Ince can be instrumental and can play the role of savior for Crystal palace. He is an intelligent player who can get in behind and make runs. Most importantly, he is a player who can score goals when needed by Crystal Palace.
But then again there is a flip side to it. We have seen many star players like Diego Forlan, Shevchenko and Juan Sebastian Veron, to name a few, were failures at the Premier League and many pundits feel with experience not in Ince’s favor, the boy prodigy may fail at the biggest stage.
Ince is in line to make his debut against West Brom at Selhurst Park on February 8. The English football prodigy will be tested against the best. The platform is set for Ince to step up and show that he is a player, who belongs to the Premier League. Only time can say whether Ince, who has almost 200 league games under his belt, will be the guardian angel for Crystal Palace.
