The Dream Team of IPL
As the nine franchisees are planning for contesting to make the best 11 from a pool of 514 players we thought of what would be the dream team in IPL based on the performance in past 6 seasons and ignoring the restriction on number of foreign and we came up with the following list
1. Chris Gayle: This southpaw from Caribbean has the power to destroy any bowling line-up in the IPL. With the kind of pitches which are prepared in IPL he is almost certain to have a run feast. Who can forget his mammoth score of 175 against Pune Warriors in a 20 over innings.
2. Mike Hussey: He is the kind of player who provides the solidity at the top of the order and can build an innings by holding one end. When needed he can also score quick runs.
3. Suresh Raina: He has been the best batsman in IPL without any doubt and it can be said so because not only has scored the most runs in IPL history but also won many matches for his side. Also he is electrifying on the field with his fielding and makes a difference of 10 runs in each game.
4. Virat Kohli: Virat has been a prolific scorer in the last three seasons of IPL. The best quality which he possesses is the temperament which is seen specially while chasing. He takes charge of the situation and bats with great sense of responsibility every time he is at the crease.
5. Rohit Sharma: Considered to be the most gifted batsman in the new breed of Indian Cricketers, he has the ability to despatch the ball to the boundary at will when he is on song.
6. Kieron Pollard: This hard hitter of the ball can tear apart any bowler in the death overs. With him on the crease 75 runs in the last 5 overs is almost a certainty. He also has a knack of picking up wickets at crucial times.
7. M.S. Dhoni: The best finisher that IPL has seen. He comes, he smashes, he makes you win. The Indian Captian also brings composure and calm in the side with his captaincy. His quick pair of hands behind the wicket are also a great asset to have.
8. R. Ashwin: He is the best spinner to have in IPL. He can bowl in powerplays, in the middle overs or at the death. He is a cunning bowler with all the tricks up his sleeve like the carom ball, top spinners, googly etc.
9. Dale Steyn: The South African can generate swing and bounce even on the dry sub-continent pitches. His quick pace and unwavering line and length makes him a difficult bowler to play even in this format.
10. Lasith Malinga: He is one on those bowlers who commands respect in this format of cricket. Most of the times the opposition teams look to see through his overs without losing wickets. His accurate Yorkers and deceiving slowers make him difficult to play in start of the innings or death.
11. Morne Morkel: This tall South African can run through the opening line-up with his express pace and extra-bounce. He has been the mainstay of the Delhi Daredevils bowling attack and in tandem with Malinga and Steyn, he will be even more destructive.

Well I believe Rohit Sharma has proven himself to be a potent match winner in IPL which is evident from his record in the tournament which is why I have given preference to him.
