Is Liverpool only about SaS?

The mighty Reds of Anfield have been resurgent in this campaign, against the backdrop of more than half a decade of disappointing seasons in the English Premier League. Under the silhouette of the Manchester clubs and Chelsea in yesteryears, this season has been sparked by a turnaround in the clubs fortunes . The silkiness of the vintage Liverpool counter-attack is certainly eye candy for all football fans to enjoy. Of course in Luis Suarez, they have a pure-bred match winner. His 23 goals in 25 matches has seen Liverpool rise from the ashes to stake a claim for atleast a top four finish this season. Forming a formidable partnership with Daniel Sturridge at the helm of a pacy Liverpool attack, the SaS combo has been a nightmare for defences this season racking up an impressive tally of 40 goals between them already, with about half the season yet to play out.

Though Liverpool has been more than Suarez and Sturridge, with Coutinho, Gerrard and Sterling providing the required ammunition and Skrtel,Mignolet ensuring stability at the other end, SaS has undoubtedly been the critical success factor for Liverpool’s stellar form this season. Performances such as the 5-1 demolition of Arsenal, accentuated by Martin Skrtel bagging a couple of goals, demonstrate that Liverpool are much more than just a two-man army, yet the contribution of the dynamic duo certainly warrants for more than just accolades.
