The auctions for IPL season 7 came to a conclusion today with a total of 154 players being sold. Yuvraj Singh emerged as the most expensive player in the 2014 IPL Auction with a mammoth price tag of Rs. 14 crores paid for him by Royal Challengers Bangalore, while Dinesh Karthik was bought for 12.5 crores by Delhi Daredevils.

Among the foreign players, Delhi bought back Kevin Pietersen for 9 crores, while Kings XI Punjab bagged Mitchell Johnson for 6.5 crores.

Karan Sharma bagged the highest among the uncapped players as Sunrisers Hyderabad paid 3.75 crore to retain him, while Rishi Dhawan was the second best with 3 crore paid for him by Kings XI Punjab.

Rajasthan Royals bought the highest number of players at 25 while Chennai Superkings bought the least with 20 players. Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore were the only two teams to finish their full auction quota of 60 crores.

After the big guns were bought yesterday, Day 2 saw mostly uncapped Indian players being bought by the franchises with allrounder Karan Sharma was bought for a huge 3.75 crores. Ranji Trophy’s top wicket-taker this season, Rishi Dhawan and Ranji Trophy’s top-scorer this season, Kedar Jadhav were bought using the ‘right to match’ provision by Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils respectively.

Among the foreigners bought on day 2, the notable players are Wayne Parnell, Andre Russell and John Hastings.
