#Raheem Sterling, #England national football team, #2014 FIFA World Cup
Would we be seeing Raheem Sterling wearing the Three Lions on his chest in the FIFA world cup of Brazil 2014..???
Raheem Sterling, The upcoming star of the English football who was recently seen destroying the league leaders of the premier league wearing a Liverpool jersey at Anfield. Yes, the man who played a major part in the demolition of gunners. The young kid on the block who moves swiftly through the defenders with ease.
Raheem Sterling is a Jamaican born young teenager who migrated to London when he was 5 years. He came into the football scene at a young age of 15 when he was signed by the QPR for their youth academy. He stayed in QPR until then Manager of Liverpool Rafael Benitez noticed him and signed him for his club. If you look at the carrier stats of Sterling he has represented England in under 16’s, Under 17’s, Under 19’s and Under 21 category. This speaks for the talent which this young lad has got. With these impressive performances alongside with the youth club duties of Liverpool he was then promoted to the senior team for the first time in 2011-12 season. Initially he was not quite impressive due to which he lost his place in the first team. With time he improved his game and with the experience of playing alongside the greats of football his confidence increased immensely and he emerged as a player to watch out for in the league. From that time there is no looking back. He along with Suarez and Sturridge formed a dominant force for the Liverpool. This was at display when Liverpool destroyed the league leaders Arsenal 5-1 at Anfield. The talent of Raheem Sterling was kept into display wherein he was able move swiftly in the field and was able to pass the defenders at will.
With his recent performances for his premier league team Liverpool he has impressed the current England coach Rob Hodgson. With Theo getting injured in the recent league match Raheem has a better chance of being in Rob Hodgson’s wish list to replace him for a place in the team which would fly to Brazil to represent England this summer in FIFA world cup 2014. Rob Hodgson has outspoken by saying that “He impressed me when I took charge of the Under-21s (against Scotland in August) and now since he’s back in the Liverpool team his form seems to be going up and up and up. He is doing it for a top team and that puts a lot of pressure on everybody else because if you can do it at the top of the table with Liverpool then you can do it in an England shirt as well.” If he continues his performance it is sure that Rob Hodgson will rope him in. To be fair Sterling do deserves a place in the England national team.
Whatever might be the performance of the players it’s Rob Hodgson who would take the decision. We just hope that Sterling could be the one who will be playing on the pitch wearing the Three Lions on his chest.
