New Zealand v/s India 2nd Test: India's dismal tour comes to an end with an unconvincing draw
New Zealand recorded their first Test series victory over India since 2002 after the second match ended in a draw today. It was a great day for Brendon McCullum and New Zealand cricket as the captain became the first New Zealander and 24th overall to score a Test triple century.
Brendon McCullum’s mammoth 302 anchored New Zealand to score 680 for eight declared, setting the Indians an unlikely task of scoring 435 runs in 67 overs to achieve the victory.
After having dominated the home team for the first three days, the last two days belonged to New Zealand as Brendon McCullum together with Bradley-John Watling(124)and James Neesham(137 n.o.) dismantled the Indian bowling attack.
Chasing 435 runs for victory, New Zealand had India in trouble early in their second innings with an unlikely victory also a possibility but Virat Kohli scored his sixth test century to dispel any such thoughts. Brendan McCullum and Mahendra Singh Dhoni decided to call the game off with 15 overs remaining.
