Sochi Winter Olympics: Ole Einar Bjoerndalen becomes most decorated Winter Olympian ever
Ole Einar Bjoerndalen may not be very well-known sportsperson in our country but for anyone who follows Winter sports, he is a legend. Today, Ole Einar Bjoerndalen created history by becoming the most decorated Winter Olympian when he won his 13th Winter Olympics medal by winning the gold in the biathlon mixed relay event.
The Norwegian broke the record he shared with cross-country skiing great Bjoern Daehlie, also matching his fellow Norwegian’s record of eight gold medals. Bjoerndalen earlier won gold in Sochi in the men’s sprint biathlon. The 40 year-old can win another medal in the final men’s biathlon event of the Sochi Games, the 4x7.5K relay on Saturday.
