Asia Cup 2014: Team Chances
The Asia Cup 2014 gets underway from tomorrow, and this time we actually have no outright favourite.
India:- Under Kohli’s captaincy, the outfit becomes an entirely different side. Best batting side. In-form batting, suited for the conditions. Poor pace attack is a problem, since they leak a lot of runs.
Pakistan:- Best bowling side, with the likes of Junaid Khan and Saeed Ajmal. very unpredictable batting line-up, prone to collapses. Shahid Afridi back in form will definitely bolster the batting outfit.
Sri-Lanka:- Balanced side. Both the Perera’s are in top form. This may put Sri-Lanka in good stead for the tournament. the bowling looks a tad bit inexperienced with both Herath n Kulasekara set to miss the tournament.
Bangladesh:- As runners-up, last time round, they should be having their tails up. Shakib-al-Hasan should play a key role in this team. Also the team is buoyed by rich vein of recent form.
Afghanistan:- Yes it will be a great opportunity for them to compete against some of the best cricketing nations in the continent. But don’t expect any major upsets.
