UEFA Champions League Round of 16: Arsenal, AC Milan out to overturn first-leg deficit
Arsenal face a monumental task of overturning 2-0 home defeat when they visit defending champions Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie. Pep Guardiola’s team have been destroying every team who has come to their way and are vying to become the Champions League champion for the second consecutive time. But Arsenal can hope to overturn the deficit and advance through to the next round since they had defeated Bayern Munich away last season at the same stage by 2-0 but were unfortunate not to advance further. Crucial to Arsenal’s hope of overturning the deficit will be the form of Mesut Ozil who has seemed to return to form after a few months of ineffectiveness.
In tonight’s other match, Atletico Madrid face AC Milan at the Vicente Calderon with a 1-0 lead over the once mighty Italian giants. The Madrid side have been in scintillating form this season and are overwhelming favourites to advance to the Quarter final of this season at the expense of AC Milan who are having a nightmare season this term. However we can never write off the experienced Milan side who are almost certain to be absent from next season’s Champions League.
