CSK vs RR:Key areas where the match will be decided
Royals would be reeling at this moment of time after receiving a “rap from M&M”. They are up against the CSK side who have found their mojo back after a blip in the first game. It will be a tough ask for RR to contain this strong CSK batting line-up consisting of heavyweights like Smith, Mccullum, Raina, Dhoni, Faf (Opposition captain’s nightmare). They just batter the bowlers into submission and I won’t be surprised if they score 250 once or twice in this tournament for RR would be hoping not on the 23rd.
Let’s look at some of the key areas where the match will be decided
• CSK batting vs RR bowling: This is going to be the decider of the match. If somehow RR can manage to restrict Chennai’s galaxy of stars to around 150 if they bowl first or be able to put a score of around 180 while batting first then they are in business. The likes of Faulkner, Richardson, Kulkarni, Tambe, Bhatia will have their tasks cut out. Richardson and Kulkarni need to start well otherwise if they allow Baz and Smith to blaze away at the start they could well be chasing shadows for the rest of the match
• Watto Power: Beware spectators if this guy stays around for 10 overs!! He is RR’s trump card and they would be looking for some inspiration from ‘Captain Watto’.
• Young Turks vs Tried and Tested: Royals young brigade will be put to a stern test tonight by the Super kings. If the likes of Binny, Samson ,Rahane can come through this test with flying colours then it would give a huge boost to their confidence for remainder of the tournament. On the flips side, Chennai is such a team that can demoralize you within no time (Ask the Daredevils). So if the youngsters can hold their own against this mighty opponent then we are in for an exciting contest.
For starters Chennai as always start as favorites. Such is the tenacity of this team that even if the Royals bring their A game to the plate it could well fall short. Royals will need to play out of their skins to stretch the Kings from Chennai but as we all know, this is T-20 where one big over can change the complexion of the match and Royals can also take heart from last year’s encounter where they came out winners from an improbable situation. So can the ‘underdogs’ overperform just like the previous seasons??
