IPL-7 Match Preview: MI vs CSK; Mumbai Indians look to continue winning streak

MATCH FACTS
What: Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings
When: Saturday, May 10, 2014. 8pm, IST
Where: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
Head-to-Head: Mumbai Indians lead 9-7

Mumbai Indians take on the Chennai Super Kings in what promises to be a thrilling encounter at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. Mumbai seem to have recovered after their ‘Desert Disaster’ in the UAE where they lost all their matches and were rooted to the bottom of the table. Two wins in two matches since then against formidable opponents in KXIP and RCB have got them up and running and they would like to keep their surge towards the top-4 going against the Super Kings.
CSK, on the other hand, had their feathers ruffled by a rampaging Kings XI side who blew them away in the last match, showing no respect to the most dominant side in the history of the IPL. Captain MS Dhoni needs to get the ship back on track in order to ensure there are no further lapses in their endeavour to secure a play-off berth with reasonable time left.

STANDINGS
Mumbai Indians: 7th with 4 points (7 matches played)
Chennai Super Kings: 2nd with 12 points (8 matches played)

POSSIBLE PLAYING XI
MUMBAI INDIANS: Ben Dunk, CM Gautam, Aditya Tare, Ambati Rayudu, Rohit Sharma, Corey Anderson, Kieron Pollard, Harbhajan Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Praveen Kumar, Lasith Malinga
CHENNAI SUPER KINGS: Dwayne Smith, Brendon McCullum, Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Mithun Manhas, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ben Hilfenhaus, Mohit Sharma, Ishwar Pandey

IN THE SPOTLIGHT
COREY ANDERSON hasn’t quite lived up to the pre-tournament hype and questions about his place in the side are starting to pop-up. A 20-ball half-century awaits.
MS DHONI would love to get into some hitting form as early as possible. He scored a painstakingly slow 20-ball 23 against Kings XI when his team needed 18 an over and has only aggregated 147 runs this term with half the season over. Arguably the best finisher in the game (AB de Villiers is close) needs to get going for the men in yellow.

PROBABLE OUTCOME
CHENNAI SUPER KINGS cut short Mumbai’s winning streak and their astonishing run of 10 consecutive wins at the Wankhede
