Can Force India continue to compete with the big guns of F1?
The Formula One season has failed to ignite any interest in the minds of the sports enthusiasts whatsoever with the engrossing feud between the two Mercedes drivers the only saving grace. With Mercedes dominant in all the 5 races of the season so far and looks likely to continue its winning run in Monaco Grand Prix later this evening, it has become a truly boring sight to behold. Contrary to the pulsating F1 of yesteryear, the mantra of F1 win today is that the best car always wins.
But does that mean Indian F1 lovers should divert their attention to something else? Certainly not. Force India has been a revelation so far this season, sitting in the 4th place in Teams Standings ahead of the likes of eternal heavyweights of F1, Mclaren and Williams. And Force India driver Nico Hulkenberg in 6th place and Sergio Perez in the 10th place. They have even managed to get a podium finish this season with Sergio Perez finishing 3rd in the Bahrain Grand Prix.
However, the real question is how long can Force India sustain their brilliant run? Can they finish the season in their current position or even higher? Only time will tell if the season can be a grand success but one thing is sure, this season they have a car which is in no inferior to the Ferraris and McLarens of the world and if the technical team can keep the errors to the minimum and the drivers continue to drive in the same way as they have done in the first five races then at the end of the season we might be at end of something really special.
