RAMSEY WOULD LOVE TO STAY AND PLAY FOR ARSENAL
The gunners have had a history of their stars being robbed away by the power houses of football. After fabregas, Song, Nasri and Van Persie leaving Arsenal in the past years, all eyes will be on Aaron Ramsey during this summer transfer window. All the top clubs would be in a race to sign the 23-year old Welsh man, but arsenal would be certainly having different ideas. The 23 year old Welshman scored an amazing extra time winner during the FA cup final against Hull City handing Arsenal their first major trophy after 9 years. Aaron Ramsey has been the star turner for arsenal this season and the team has never lost a game when he has scored. He has had an amazing season having played 23 games and has proved his credentials by scoring 10 goals and 8 assists.
All the editors and writers have started to compare him with his welsh compatriot and stated that he could very well become the next Bale by leaving the Gunners this season. But according to me, there is a huge difference between Ramsey and Bale. Bale had dreamt of playing for Real from his childhood days and it was not a tough decision for him to make when the club approached him. On the other hand Ramsey loves the club and has no intentions whatsoever to leave the club. The faith that had been shown by Arsene Wenger on the 23 year old Welshman has been amazing.
Aaron Ramsey broke his leg against stoke in a premier league game in 2010 and many doubted whether he would be able to return to his best form again. And having come under intense criticism for his poor form 18 months ago, Ramsey has transformed his performances at the Emirates and proved any of his critics wrong, justifying the faith shown in him from manager Arsene Wenger. According to me, the faith that Arsene Wenger has shown should be repaid by the young Welshman in the seasons to come. After the FA cup triumph, an emotional Ramsey told in an interview that he is looking forward to “winning things” with arsenal in the coming seasons. Having signed a 5-year long Contract this march, he has made his intentions clear about his future.
Having ended the 9 year old draught and with champions league qualification, Arsene Wenger will be certainly going to this Summer Transfer window with an upper hand when compared to the previous seasons. Unlike the previous seasons, he should stop worrying about losing star players and rather look to add the final pieces to the jigsaw and making sure that the club can build on this year’s FA cup triumph. The team is high on morale and would be expected to come back stronger next season with more spirit and firepower.
